刘若愚（James Liu，1926-1986），生前为美国斯坦福大学教授，主要研究中国古典诗歌、诗论和文论，以及中西比较文学、比较诗学。他还著有《中国诗艺》、《中国之游侠》、《李商隐的诗》、《北宋主要诗人》、《中国文学艺术基础》、《跨语种批评家》、《悖论—语言—诗学》。
